Barclays names John Kingman as chair of Barclays Bank U.K.

on Monday said it has appointed John Kingman as chair of Barclays Bank UK effective June 1, succeeding Crawford Gillies.

The British bank said Mr. Kingman, who stepped down as chair of Tesco Bank on Jan. 22, has also been named as nonexecutive director alongside Marc Moses. Mr. Moses’ appointment is effective as of Jan. 23, it added..

The FTSE 100 group said Mike Ashley and Mr. Gillies will retire as nonexecutive directors in May at the end of their tenure on the bank’s board.

Barclays added that Julia Wilson will replace Mr. Ashley as chair of the audit committee and join the board of Barclays Bank UK from April 1.
