President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the Senate to approve some outstanding judgment loans amounting to Five Hundred Million Dollars, Ninety Eight Million Pounds and Two Hundred Twenty Six Billion Naira.
The request is coming barely five days before the dismissal of the current administration.
The letter of request was read by the Senate President; Ahmed Lawan during today’s plenary meeting.
In the letter, Buhari clarified that the money is for the award made against ministries, departments and agencies that were earlier decided through promissory notes.
He added that the decision to pay off the loan was approved by the Federal Executive Council.
