Buhari’s government announces new appointments during Tinubu’s inauguration

Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesperson Garba Shehu on Monday announced the new appointments made by the former leader.

The announcement was made in a statement sent to journalists just before 11 am, at which time President Bola Tinubu was being inaugurated.

Mr. Shehu, however, said that Mr. Buhari made the appointments on Friday, although the announcements were made on Monday morning.

Six persons appointed to be Executive Directors Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and they were confirmed after the former President forwarded their names, Mr Shehu said.

President Muhammadu Buhari on 26 May approved the nominations submitted for approval as Executive Directors of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, following the departure of the holders of the posts whose term expired on 31 March.

The new positions appointed are:

1. Ige Osagi (Edo State) Executive Director Engineering

2. Betsy Ihebunike (Anambra State) Executive Director Marketing

3. Lawal Omar Lalu (Katsina State) Executive Director Programs

4. Ayo Adewuyi (Osun State) Executive Director News

5. Adamu Sambo (Adamawa State) Executive Director Special Duty

6. Nansel Nimayel (Plateau State) Executive Director Administration & Training

7. Abdullahi Ismail Ahmed (Kaduna State) Executive Director Finance.

The appointments are to serve for an initial three years, renewable for the next three years.
