Speaking to Express.co.uk at The Sun’s Who Cares Wins Awards, Denise Welch said she believes the Loose Women tour has “reminded” the cast of why they do the show, after facing “toxic” workplace speculation.
While walking the red carpet at the event in London, Denise recalled how the Palladium was “packed” with fans of the ITV show last night.
Hitting out at negative rumours swirling around Loose Women, the actress gushed: “It was really a buzz to play the Palladium and see it so packed.
“It’s been really amazing to do this tour, because we get so much s**t about, ‘it’s a toxic thing all women working together’ and it really p***es me off!”
Denise went on to share that taking part in the on-stage show is making her understand the hype that her son Matty Healy receives while touring with his band, The 1975.
She added: “So, to take this out there and just remind ourselves of who we do this for…
“I said to my son, it’s like being in the Nanna’s version of The 1975 on this tour – we get mobbed at the stage door and it’s great!”
Recently, agent to the stars Melanie Blake, who previously represented several Loose Women presenters, hit out at the show and claimed it is a “cut-throat place to work”.
The talent agent claimed: “Despite the party line of the Loose Women having been the best of friends from day one, it’s simply that, a party line.
“Just because you get a job sitting next to each other, doesn’t mean you’re going to be friends. There were a lot of egos in my era, so it’s not a show I want my new agency to represent stars from again.”
Denise didn’t hesitate in firing back at Melanie’s claims on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Denise wrote: “So disappointing that a female agent @MelanieBlakeUK constantly uses her position to tear down other women.
“It’s such a cliche that women can’t work together without being b****es.
“I adore my @loosewomen colleagues otherwise I wouldn’t work there,” Denise shared back in August, following Melanie’s comments to The Mirror.
