I am happily going on tour to look after my cattle – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says he is happily relocating to his farm in Katsina state to look after his cattle after handing them over to President-elect Bola Tinubu on Monday.

The President said this at the concluding session of the Federal Executive Council held at the State House Council Chamber, Abuja on Wednesday.

Mr. Buhari said that since he became president, he does not have much time to look after his cattle and concentrate on his business.

“I would also be happy to do many of the things I haven’t been able to do since May 29, 2015. Taking care of my cattle is one of my favorite pastimes.”

The president lauded his ministers for their support during his eight years as president, saying, “I am proud to say that we gave our best.”

“Throughout our years together, from the oldest members of the team to our newest additions over the last seven and a half years, we have differed on many issues. I urge that we understand those posts were for the collective good, and no one should hold grudges or escalate these differences,” he said.

“For those of us who will not be directly in government, I know I am one; I ask that we continue to lend our support in whatever way we can when called upon by our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which gave us the platform to stand on and we must support it in every way Must continue,” he added.

Mr. Buhari urged members of the cabinet to always check on him when he is finally transferred to the tour.

“I’ve been waiting for many of you, disapproving that the tour hasn’t gotten too far because I’m no longer president,” he said.

“I wish all of us the best and hope to hear good news whenever any of our names are mentioned. Thank you, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The President also expressed his appreciation to the State House staff members for their support during his administration.
