June 1 marks the start of Pride Month internationally, which includes many Canadian communities such as Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto.

Some Canadian cities celebrate at other times of the year, as in the case of Halifax in July, Fredericton, Vancouver and Montreal in August, and Calgary in September.


While the rainbow flag and the words “pride” are becoming more common – Granthshala News is looking beyond abbreviations to some lesser-known labels.
