About JEE Advanced
India conducts an academic examination every year called the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced. Under the direction of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), it is organized by one of the seven zonal IITs on a round-robin rotation pattern for JEE-Main qualifying candidates. Prior to the introduction of UCEED, Online B.S., and Olympiad entries, it was the only requirement for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology bachelor’s programs; however, the number of seats available through these new channels is extremely low.
The score obtained on the JEE-Advanced exam is used as the basis for admission at other universities, such as the Marine Engineering and Research Institute, the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, the Indian Institute of Space Technology, the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, and the Indian Institute of Science. Indian applicants seeking admission to non-Indian universities, such as the University of Cambridge and the National University of Singapore, may also use the JEE-Advanced score as a possible basis.
