April 20: The PC government says it is looking into increased compensation for workers injured on the job, but the change will not take effect until after the election. It said the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act would need to be amended to set the new rate. It added that the proposed change would be possible due to surplus funds from WSIB.

25 April: The PC government says it will spend another $1 billion over three years to expand home care. It said the funding would help prevent “redundant” hospital and long-term care admissions and reduce hospital stays.
