Police release timeline of the Cardiff crash before it unfolded

Police have released a timeline of the minutes before and just after an accident in Ely that killed two teenagers and sparked a riot on Monday evening.

At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, South Wales Police Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Bacon said the force was aware of concerns about the timing of the incidents, so that’s what they know so far.

Harvey Evans, 15, died along with his best friend, 16-year-old Kiris Sullivan, when the electric bike they were riding crashed in the Ely area of ​​Cardiff on Monday evening, sparking riots.

5.59 pm: CCTV shows bike going towards police vehicle in Frank Road, bike then overturns

at 6 pm: There is a police car behind the bike. The police have highlighted CCTV images which show that no blue beacon or siren was operating.

6.01 pm: The police vehicle is at the New Church Alley roundabout and travels via Archer Road, Stanway Road and Howell Road.

6.02.31 pm: Police vehicle turns onto Grand Avenue.

6.02.18 pm – 6.02.41 pm: Estimated time of the fatal accident on Snowden Road. Police said the police vehicle was on Grand Avenue, half a mile off Snowden Road, at the time of the accident.
