Trudeau and Mark Miller, the Minister for Crown-Indigenous Relations, spend most of the day at the Siksika Nation.

The notice on the country’s website inviting its members to the event said it was a signing ceremony for the 1910 Granthshala Settlement Agreement.

The settlement covers various land claims and comes with a one-time payment of $1.3 billion.

The Siksika website says that each member will receive $20,000 in July as part of the agreement.
